VirtCert.com members can be Wholesalers, Retailers, or Both.

You are a Wholesaler if you maintain an inventory of your own diamonds available for sale that you upload to VirtCert.  You can have a Diamond Search Engine on your for your Retailers to access, just upload your inventory so your Retailers can link it into their own web sites, or do both.

You are a Retailer if you take advantage of the Diamond Search Engine that VirtCert.com provides and use it to sell your Wholesalers' diamonds to the general public.

A number of members are Both, uploading their inventory of in-house diamonds while also running a web site to sell stones to their Trade clients or to the public at large.

The variety of services available on VirtCert.com are described below.

The Most Detailed Database

VirtCert.com uses the most detailed diamond database on the Internet, tracking every aspect of the diamonds listed online.    

Inventory Control

Any member of VirtCert can upload an inventory of diamonds that they have available.  The inventory can be used either on their own web site or made available for sale to other members.

Authorize Your Retailers

You can determine which other members (Retailers) will have access to your inventory.  If you don't approve them, they won't even be able to view your inventory.  If you do approve them, your diamonds will appear in their search engine the moment you authorize them.

If you choose, you can allow access to your inventory automatically to any member who wishes to carry it.  You can even say "I want everybody except XYZ Diamonds and ABC Diamonds to be able to show my inventory" and it will do just that.

If you can think of a combination of Retailers that you want to have, VirtCert will let you do it.

Authorize Your Wholesalers

Once your Wholesalers have authorized you to sell their diamonds, you can choose whether you want those diamonds included in your search engine.  For example, if you have had unreliable service from one of your Wholesalers, you can simply "turn them off" and their inventory will immediately disappear from your listings.  "Turn them on" and their inventory is instantly blended back in.  

The combination of all your Authorized Suppliers' inventories is called your "Selling Inventory." 

Markup Control

You can control the markup on your inventory, at different rates for different members if desired, with different markups available at over thirty different price points from $0.01 to $100,000.00 or more.  You can also specify a flat dollar amount to be added to the price before and/or after the markups are calculated.  This is handy if you want to build a shipping fee into the price, or any other reasons that you may have. 

There are two levels of markups, one established by the Wholesalers and another one established by the Retailers.  

This allows Wholesalers to give preferential pricing to their best clients (Retailers), regular pricing to their regular clients, and put higher markups on the more troublesome clients.

This also allows Retailers to charge less markup to their best Wholesalers or Wholesalers whose inventory they want to emphasize.  They can have a regular markup applied to their typical Wholesalers, and put higher markups for Wholesalers that are more difficult to work with. 

Search Functions

Our Search Engine is at the heart of VirtCert.com.

Once you have it linked into your site, or even if you just use it as a back-office tool to find your own stones, you can find anything you are looking for with it.

You can do all the normal things, searching for carat, color, clarity, etc. and you will have a choice of output styles for displaying the results.

There is a "Pair Finder" that will let you enter the stock number of a diamond that you like, and it will find a matching stone for it, even if it is from a different Wholesaler.  You can even change the criteria of the matching test to tailor it to your needs.

Data Control

Some of the other diamond search websites have recently established policy statements that basically say:

"Once you upload your data to us,. we own it and will control how you can access it and will control your clients' access to it as well."

To sum it up, we feel that this is absurd.

On VirtCert.com your "Selling Inventory" is available for you to download at any time for any use in any of your company's operations:

We do everything we can to make sure that you have the data you need, the way you need  it, so you can run your business smoothly and generate the most profit with the least amount of work possible.

We provide, at no additional cost, a number of ways for you to get the data you need:

* You can download it as an ASCII text file for use in your own programs.

* You can download it into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to use as you wish.

* You can download it automatically through a URL for automatic retrieval on your own web site.

* If you need the data in a certain non-standard format, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If a member was to abuse these features somehow, we will leave it up to their Wholesalers to simply "Turn them off."  In the spirit that the Internet was born in, we let you be self-policing.

Web Site Security

You have the option of making your website password protected to only allow access to those people you create an account for.  You can assign your own usernames and passwords, maintain a mailing list of clients, and more.

Web Site Integration

If you already have a website, you can link your web site to VirtCert.com for seamless integration of our search engines into your site with no programming required.  

We provide you the HTML code for you to simply cut and paste into your web pages.
